There are a number of leagues operating within Nottinghamshire that provide football for all players.
Young Elizabethan League (YEL), one of the biggest youth leagues in the country, with over 1000 teams playing games from U7 to U14 each week. Operating on a home and away basis, the league introduced a 2 season season a number of years ago, which enables teams to be moved up and down divisions easily, thereby enabling more evenly contested games. A charter standard league which has grown steadily over the years.

Kickstart League, established in 2002 Kickstart are the only league in the county that operates a central venue model, where all of the teams travel and play their games at the same location each week. Providing football for U7-U12 teams, mainly from the Mansfield and Ashfield areas, the league make it really easy for new teams to just turn up and play, without having to worry about finding a pitch, marking the lines, providing a referee, as it’s all done for them.

Notts Youth League (NYL) caters for the older age groups in the county, providing football for the U14-U18 age groups, and solely the more traditional 11v11 game. Another large league which attracts teams from all over the county, and from neighbouring counties. The large number of teams allows a number of leagues to operate on both Saturday and Sunday, which provides good competition for those teams involved.
