Independent Non-Executive Chair Vacancy

The Nottinghamshire Football Association is seeking to appoint an Independent Chair to lead the Board of Directors. 

 

The role is to facilitate board meetings with the existing team of directors, both independent and nominated, in supporting the Senior Management Team with directing the business affairs of the organisation. 


It is anticipated that the person appointed will have a passionate interest in football but will also have experience in the following key areas:


a) Ensuring the organisation operates in accordance with the Companies Act (2006) and other relevant legislation.
b) Setting and approving objectives to deliver the strategic business plan and regularly review performance against those objectives.
c) Monitoring the financial affairs of the Association.
d) Overseeing the management of risk to the Association, including matters of Health & Safety.
e) Maintaining an effective corporate governance structure.
f) Reviewing and amending regulations for the better administration of the Association.
g) Ensuring a duty of care to all employees by providing oversight as required
h) Adopting code of conducts for the Board and County Members.
i) Ensuring the County FA operates within the Articles of Association. 
j) Reviewing and approving any policy changes recommended by the Executive to ensure ongoing governance of the association within FA rules and regulations. 
k) Adhering to the Safeguarding Operating Standards and undertaking any appropriate training requirements as determined by The Football Association.


The initial term of the appointment will be for three years in accordance with the Articles of Association; Board meetings are convened every 4-6 weeks during the evenings, either in person at the County FA Offices in Chilwell, or online with Microsoft Teams, and usually commence at 6.30pm.


We seek an energetic and results oriented Chair who will be keen to drive forward each of the areas as described above.
