Meadow Lane To Host Senior Cup Final
The home of Notts County will provide the backdrop to the Saturday Senior Cup Final between Newark & Sherwood United and Carlton Town.
The final will be played on Tuesday 2nd May, 7:45pm Kick Off.
Following two brilliant semi-finals, the final of the Saturday Senior Cup has now been confirmed. Newark & Sherwood United booked their place in the final after defeating Nottingham Forest U21s 2-0 at their home ground, Station Road, in front of a record-breaking crowd with 1,002 the official attendance. This setup the final against Carlton Town who had a brilliant semi-final result themselves, beating Mansfield Town on penalties after a hard-fought 1-1 draw. This was against a strong Mansfield team, with a number of first team players in the starting line-up.

In other cup news, the semi-finals have been confirmed for the Sunday Senior Cup and this year, will take place at neutral venues. Last year’s winners of the competition, Poets Young Boys will take on Fanzines United at Carlton Town FC. The second venue, Southwell City FC will host Nottingham Legends vs Holy Trinity in the other semi-final. Both fixtures will take place on Sunday 12th March with a 10.30am kick off. Tickets are just £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
The Women’s County Cup Semi-Final draw has now also been confirmed as below:
Mansfield Town Ladies v Nottingham Forest Women Reserves
Retford Ladies v Mansfield Hosiery Mills or Notts County Women
Ties are due to be played on Sunday 19th March.
The Saturday Trophy is also at the semi-final stage with ties due to be played 4th March. These semi-finals see Keyworth United taking on Linby Colliery Welfare and Stapleford Town hosting Retford United in the second semi-final.
In the Sunday Trophy, this weekend we saw the quarter-final stage take place with the semi-final draw to be confirmed shortly.
